Dreamy Chocolate Banana Smoothie
Protein shakes are a staple meal in my yogi inspired diet and this Dreamy Chocolate Banana Smoothie is, by far, my favorite! It is just so creamy, smooth, rich and full of chocolatey goodness! Who could resist!!
Before I get to the recipe, let me just share that I can’t say enough about the importance of getting enough protein in your diet. Having adequate amounts of protein that is properly digested is needed for the body to uptake minerals such as calcium. Think about that! We also need protein to build and maintain healthy strong muscles.
There was a time in recent years when I was not making the best dietary choices and fooling myself into believing that it was fine. *Gasp!!* All the while, I couldn’t understand why I wasn’t able to build muscle no matter what I did and bonus, I was losing muscle mass at a fast pace. I chalked it up to menopause … until … I cleaned up my eating habits with superfoods that included adequate amounts of protein. Guess what?! My muscle tone began to come back and is continuing to build at age 56!! Happy girl!
