I Can Do Hard Things
My mantra lately has been … “I can do hard things”.
The idea of what shows up on the mat, shows up in day to day living has become very real to me. I have noticed that I’ve been shying away from the poses that don’t come easy. The shocking current revelation is that I’ve been living my life in a very similar way. Taking the easy way … the path of least resistance! Yikes!!
Why is this a big deal? Because, I’m sure just like you, there are things in life that I want to accomplish. I can look back over a rather large span of time and see this pattern showing up over and over.
Let’s be real here! When we don’t accomplish the things we really want, it becomes defeating in so many ways and we begin to settle for less with a disappointing ache in our gut.
In my last article, The Journey to Change Starts Here, I asked you … what is it that you want? I went on to discuss that if you want something different, you must do something different. Yes!
To drive that home, I have taken on those hard yoga poses that I love but have been avoiding. I have been focusing on the mantra, “I can do hard things”. No more avoiding! No more taking the easy road! No more taking the path of least resistance!
Girl! “I can do hard things” and so can you! What is it that you want … on the mat and off the mat?! You can do it! I believe in you! Start with one of those hard yoga poses you’ve been avoiding. Or, maybe for you it’s about getting started with a home yoga practice. Now is the time! Focus on the mantra … “I can do hard things”. And in time, see how that translates into your day to day life! It will! I promise!
