Rewards & Benefits of a Consistent Yoga Practice
The rewards and benefits of a consistent yoga practice are priceless and innumerable, and those rewards will begin to show up quickly. I know! I’ve been there and it continues to this day! Let’s take a look at what some of this can look like.
Depending upon your current physical ability you will, whether right from the get go or further down the line, you will be greeted with tight muscles and muscles weakness and it can change from day to day depending upon what’s going on in your life. It can be based emotionally, physically or even spiritually. Remember, we are a whole person! We are not compartmentalized so one thing always affects another.
I’m here to tell you that where ever you are physically, it’s ok! This is where it is important to be gentle with yourself, be loving and kind and meet yourself where you are every practice! Because, as you work through the postures, learn breathing techniques, release stress, tension, and baggage, your body will loosen up and you will become more flexible and strong! (Bonus! These things will show up in other parts of your life as well!) I promise, the first time you find yourself able to do something you couldn’t before, or the first time you notice solid progress you will be ecstatic!
When I began to take my practice seriously, sometimes I found that in 1 week (sometimes just days!) I would notice dramatic improvements. Honestly, it can happen that fast! And when it does?
Your spirit will go through the roof! It’s in those moments that empowerment begins to set in and you will see that believing in yourself, once again, is possible.
I remember the first time I had the thought, “Wow! I can do so much more than I ever thought that I could!” I knew that when I stepped off the mat that day, my revelation would go with me into everyday life. And it has!
You are going to have your own revelations and you will grow and improve in many ways. You will find yourself healing emotionally, physically, and spiritually. Because you are going to be learning how to simply “be” and tune into yourself, this means more joy, peace and love are going to show up in you and through you. You’re going to walk taller and carry yourself with more confidence. The aging process will slow down and in some ways even begin to reverse! And, you will naturally begin to eat healthier. I kid you not!
